Nano Technology

Nowadays the talked of the topic is “NANOTECHNOLOGY” . Japan spends the major portion of their budget in National Research of one part that is nano-technology. Not only Japan but also other countries – Europe, U.S.A, China, Korea etc also start research on this sector. They want to be the first pioneer on this field. U.S.A. wants to lead in the nano technology world. Because  the next world will be the era of nanotechnology.

What is  NANO TECHNOLOGY ?

‘nano’ is the measurement unit. The measurement unit system was started at 1790 in France by France National Committee. They said that one meter is equal one portion  of 40,000,000 of the world Circumference. The word ‘Meter’ comes from ‘metron’-the Greek word.  But in 1983 the definition of ‘Meter’ was changed and that is one part of 299,792,458 of the light’s speed in vacuum place.

And‘nanometer’ is one of 100 core of one meter. The word ‘nano’ comes from ‘nanos’ which meaning is ‘dwarft’ . Which technology is related in nanometer scale that is ‘NANO TECHNOLOGY’.

The word ‘Meter ’ involves in our daily life. We always measure all things in meter scale . But after the 2^nd  World War  there came a new era in ‘Science & Technology’. ‘Semiconductor’ and ‘Transistor’ was made and that time the scientists thought about the ‘micrometer’ unit. After that the time was for ‘Micro Technology’.

The latest electronics like Television, Radio, Refrigerator, Computer was invented and started a new war in technology that how could make them small. A competition was started that which company could make a better small parts of electronics .That was possible for ‘Semiconductor’.

In the first time we saw that how the electronics TV or RADIO, COMPUTER were big? But now we see the LCD TV, RADIO IN MOBILE, LAPTOPS etc. In future, we will get the smaller versions.

In 1980, the researcher of IBM first invented STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscope) for the exploration of molecule. The invention of STM is the stating era of “NANOTECHNOLOGY”.
